I hope this is in the right forum, if not please move it.
I've recently updated to webOS 2.1 and am having some undesired problems.
With 1.4.5, when I was connected to my work Exchange server it automatically collected all my contacts from Lync and added them to the contacts app. (Around 40, all work colleagues).
With 2.1.0, it has collected not only my Lync contacts but every single contact in my Outlook address book. So now my contacts app has over 650 entries! This has made the contacts app really messy and extremely slow.
Is there a way for the contacts app to only add my Lync contacts like in 1.4.5 and not every single person I've sent one email too?
Thanks and regards,
Mark

Hello!
Whewn syncing to exchange, webOS will indiscrimanately sync all contact entries located in the Contact folder for the exchange account. To keep those contacts from syncing, they will need to be moved out of the Contacts folder and into another one or subfolder. This is following the norms for the EAS protocol set by Microsoft.

Thanks alot for the quick reply! I'll follow this advice when I get to work tomorrow.
Just out of interest, was this a change somewhere between 1.4.5 - 2.1?
Thanks once again.

Hello!
I'm at work and just checked my address book and can see that since 2.1 it is syncing the 'Suggested contacts' folder and not 'Contacts' folder. In 1.4.5 it was definitely syncing the 'Contacts' folder as you described below but now that is not the case.
Any suggestions apart from cleaning up my suggested contacts folder?
Thanks and regards,
Mark

We're using a Exchange 2003 Server and webOS 2.1 is obviously synching the whole Global Adress List, as E2k3 doesn't support suggested contacts. That makes the whole synching-thing absolutely unuseable.
Can anybody confirm this?

Hi thetreoguy,
Are you able to chime in on this as it doesn't seem to be working as intended?
Thanks.

Hi,
I agree, it sycns all the data located in the contact folder.
BUT it also syncs all other contact folders based everywhere in the echange server´s private folder. If you use e.g. ms office 2010 connectors for facebook, linkedin, xing etc. you have a serious problem with EAS and your Palm Pre 2.1 device. It syncs every record out of any contact folder. Every connector produces its own contact folder on the same level.
I would appreciate if you would provide a solution for switching on or off specific folders for syncronizing with our Palm devices.

I have exactly the same problem. PalmPre 2 on WebOS 2.1 will only sync Suggested Contacts and not All Contacts with Exchange 2007

Was a fix ever found for this? I recently had to update all the palm pre 2 phones at work and now they not only have the contacts but all the suggested contacts (autocomplete).
All we want is our contacts. Is there no way keep them from syncing?
