Playing Music on my Palm Pre2

I have recently received a Palm Pre2 and am looking to play music on it. It says "Your music library is empty". I have copied a number of MP3 files from my PC to the device via USB. I could not find a suitable existing folder so created a folder called "Music". From my PC I can see these files on the phone, but I cannot find any way to access them from the phone itself. Do I need to download another app to play them? If so, what is the point of the existing music app as there is no music I can play owith it.

Hello Frank_Guest, are you absolutely sure the files are in .mp3 format?  If you ripped them on your PC, Windows Media Player defaults to making .wma files (windows media audio).

.wma files will not play on a webOS device, and would explain the error you are seeing.  If they are .mp3, do they have DRM in them, and are copywritten?  (Digital Rights Management).

I made a /Music folder on my Pre 2 also, and the files play fine using the "Music" app.

You can convert wma files into mp3 files. You can download the converter as freeware. Just do a search for "convert wma files into mp3 files".
