Unlocked Treo Pro on AT&T; error - Message exceeds the size limitation set on your device
Get a registry editor and go to - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\MMSCSetting\AT&T (the last value is the MMS Server that you are using). You will see registry keys for WAP1RecvDefaultSize, WAP1SendDefaultSize, WAP2RecvDefaultSize, WAP2SendDefaultSize. On my device these values were all set the the apparent default value of 0x4B000 (307200), except for WAP2SendDefaultSize which had a value of 0x7D000 (512000). I changed the WAP2RecvDefaultSize to match the send size and it appears to have solved my problem.

Crikey! Isn't there an easier way?
I've had five Treos since the original Handspring 300. Never encountered this problem before. Is is one of those undocumented Windows Mobile features?

I am now able to send MMS to other phones however I too am having the issue ("receiving size limitations") when receiving MMS from other AT&T devices. I cannot receive any MMS messages from other carriers. How do you edit the registry? Does anyone know the correct settings for the server? Below is my current configuration.
Current setup:
Server Name: AT&T
Gateway: wireless.cingular.com
Port number: 80
Server address: http://mmsc.cingular.com
Connect via: My ISP
Send Limit: 300K
WAP Version: WAP 2.0
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Windows Mobile does not include a registry editor. You can download a free one or a paid one. These have been often recommended on various sites:
Free - PHM Registry Editor for Pocket PC (2002)
http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/
Paid - Resco Explorer 2008 [7-day trial]
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/
You should make a backup first, "just in case." The Sprite software will do this, and you can save the files to a storage card or to your PC.
Regarding the settings, I can't help -- I'm on the Sprint network.

I am also on AT&T with the unlocked Treo Pro and I am unable to receive MMS. I installed a registry editor and inspected the registry like you advised. However, all of those values you mentioned were already equal - 0x4B000 (307200). So, I guess I should go talk to AT&T? This is sort of frustrating...
EDIT: I looked everything over again, including what you wrote. Like I said, all my values were originally set to 307200. However, I neglected to change them all to 512000. This did the trick. I changed the 4 send and receive values from 307200 to 512000. Now I am receiving MMS messages with picture files no problemo.
Thanks for your help!

I have an unlocked treo pro with AT&T as my carrier. I installed resco. net on my phone and followed your instructions. When I clicked on AT&T after the MMSCS setting there were no WAP values. There was a default icon that said value not set. The 3 other icons were configurable , connection via, and gateway. I am at a loss. Could you help me please?
Thank you!
