Is there any way to lengthen the ringtone for text messages? I set songs as my text tones and it plays about 3 seconds of it then shuts off.

Have you tried one of the standard ringtones provided with the device? Did this do the same thing. The answer to your question is no there is not a way to change the play time.

I just tried this, and witht he palm pre p100eww from bell with the latest webos both mp3 ringtones that have been downloaded, and the stock ringtones only play for a couple seconds maximum before they shut off, which is a real shame, I have an emergency email set up to check every 5 minutes that I would really like a longer and louder ringtone set up for so I don't accidentally miss it.

I have researched this on my own Palm Pre Plus device with the 1.4.5 update and I am getting the same results. I will place this on our bug list for review by engineering. There could be a solution for this in a future update.

That's awesome, it would really be a nice update. I have missed quite a few text and notifications because the ringer isn't long enough so it would really make a big difference to my device.

Me too for the enhancement request for this. I get paged via text message and need the sound to be long enough to wake me up. Ok by me if I could set it to repeat more than once rather than have it be long. Or re-play the sound every n..seconds till message is read. Whatever just need it to wake me up.

That would be nice if there will be a way to update my Pre Plus to lengthen ringtone. I have been missing my messages too.
