I'm trying to figure out how to download the windows media player mobile to my palm centro so I can borrow video from my pubilc library. I have the regular windows medial player on my windows xp home desktop but when i tried to download the mobile player from the website, I was prompted to install microsoft activesync--I have done this but microsoft activesync is not recognizing my palm centro. Any advice?

Hello BETTIE, Welcome to the Palm Support Community.
What you are trying to do cannot be done! Windows Media Player Mobile is not a PalmOS program - it is a Windows Mobile program.
ActiveSync is also a Windows program, designed for your computer and will not work with a PalmOS device.
What format is the video you're trying to view? Is it a DVD? Is it in .wmv form?
There are several programs for sale that can read .wmv format files - CorePlayer, and Kinoma Player EX are two that come to mind.
DVD converters are also for sale. See this link in the Audio, Video, and Photo section of the forum:

Thank you. I was trying to download drm protected video from the brooklyn public library which requires windows media player mobile to be watched on a device. Now that I know it can't be done with the Palm I can move on.

I bought my new HP notebook and now realize it will not play live webcast from our church which broadcast in the .wpm ....when I attempt to connect via the church website which is ccgreenvalley.org I receive the famous Mimi error. This HP device will play their mp3 files...so is this a done deal for as webOS on the HP notebook is concern, or will HP come out with a software update or and app that will work? I am very disappointed with the product which I just bought. Maybe this reason is the fact they have reduced the price and we got a $110.00 refund because people realize it isn't compatible with downloading popular formats and webOS is not that popular.
