Make/Model: Toyota Camry SE
Year: 2010
Carkit Model info (Manufacturer, firmware version, etc): JBL 6-CD changer, XMradio, no navigation.
Details of problem: Pairs with Palm Pre- "successfully", but after exiting BT setup, the car stereo remains "Paused". Playing an MP3 in the Palm music app, Pandora radio, etc. does nothing to change it. Hitting the Play button on the car stereo changes Paused to "Streaming audio" for half a second with no sound, before returning to "Paused". From searching the Precentral forums, multiple others have had this problem with the same stereo in Toyota Camrys with no apparent fix.

Make/Model: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 2008
Carkit Model info (Manufacturer, firmware version, etc): Vauxhall Factory fit BlueTooth kit
Details of problem: (e.g. pairing drops, static on the line, buttons mapped incorrectly, etc)
Phone successfully pairs with car kit. Call Quality not bad, I've had better, but my last phone was a lot worse.
Car kit uses remote SIM for contacts and I get variable results. One pairing I'll get 32 contact come through, next one will be 105 contacts available ... etc Each time it can be different. Can't work out how it choses the contacts to show as they appear to be from all letters of the alphabet.
webOS version: 2.1.0 on Palm Pre 2 (Unlocked EU)
Included in compatibility list: NO !
This is just very annoying - I don't get Caller ID for incoming calls and the family numbers never seem to make it over as contacts...

Make/Model: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 2011
Carkit Model info (Manufacturer, firmware version, etc): Vauxhall Factory fit embedded mobile phone BlueTooth kit CD400
Details of problem: (e.g. pairing drops, static on the line, buttons mapped incorrectly, etc): Pairs automatically but fails to pick up or make calls - says dialing failed. Works after rebooting phone and keeps working for a few days, then stops again. Intermittent.
The phone pairs up fine. contacts list seems to have downloaded at some stage ok, but doesn't seem to have updated every time I get in the car.
the problem comes with picking up and making calls. The voice control system seems to work sometimes but not others. Making and receiving calls works sometimes but not others and there is no indication that it will or will not work - so a few missed calls trying to pick them up (the car recognises the incoming call and caller fine. It just doesn't allow the call to be picked up.
The system inthe car works fine with a few other mobile phones - just not the Palm Pre.
I exchanged a brief conversation with the HP WEB OS KB support Live chat - but they had not heard of Vauhxhall !!!!!!! As it wasn't on their list of known car set brands, they said the phone would not work...
If you can't get this to work with one of the top selling car brands in the UK, what hope is there for PALM PRE?

Just upgraded to a new unlocked Pre2. I use the Bluetooth to pair up with Parrot handsfree device in my car. The old Pre minus and then Pre plus both could do it after being asked to enter a 4 digit code. But with Pre2, it finds the device but when attempting to connect, it just says Pairing Failed without asking for the pin.

I have had no problems pairing with my new car - except I would actually prefer to be able to disable the A2DP/AVRCP profiles so I can pair the phone to the car for voice calls only, and simultaneously use my iPod touch through the same BlueTooth car kit. This is solely because my phone is not my primary music player. I can make this scenario work by turning the Bluetooth off on the Palm Pre 2 and iPod touch, then enabling Bluetooth on the iPod, followed by the phone. This pairs for A2DP/AVRCP on the iPod, and then the phone happily pairs without the music profiles. Is there a way to disable the A2DP/AVRCP on the Pre2?
I have done the same with other phones ( WM6.5 ) and a Motorola S9 headset only need to ensure the iPod is turned on first. This scenario with the Pre2 and the S9 headset seems to have the two devices quarelling, and I will often have to choose which one I wish to use.

Make/Model: Nissan Rogue
Year: 2012
Carkit Model info (Manufacturer, firmware version, etc): built-in with SV model
Details of problem: My Pre 2 paired with the car kit fine. After pairing, the phone prompt for allowing to share contacts or not. I clicked on "allow", but only the first entry of the phonebook was transferred to the car kit. I deleted and re-added the phone at both side several times, but same problem persists. Then I chose "Send all contacts to car kit" in the Contacts application, the action failed. Then I tried to just select one contact and tried to send it to car kit. Same problem. Then I tried my wife's Pixi with WebOS 1.4.5, same symptom.
webOS version: HP webOS 2.1.0/1.4.5
Included in compatibility list: Yes
UPDATE: I've contacted Nissan, their Enfineering team said they tested WebOS 2.0.1 on Pre 2 fine with their bluetooth module. They said the only way to make it work is to downgrade my Pre 2 to version 2.0.1. Go figure... I hope HP will come up with pacth to correct that. After all, it works with version 2.0.1.
