Does the Pre connect to your car? Have you selected the send all to car kit under contacts application?

Yes, the phone connects to the car kit and allows me to manually dial outgoing calls and take incoming calls. However, I have tried to use the facility to send contacts to car kit and all I seem to get is an error message every time?
I found it really useful to see my contacts on my car kit as this made it easier to dial out and also see the name of incoming calls.

Hi,
My previous problem with bluetooth connection was resolved with a update 1.3.5.2. Phone started to connect ok with BMW car kit and all contacts were viewable in the address book. I have been able to make handsfree call and voice dial via the car kit until installing update version 1.4.0. Now the car does not even register the connection? What going on?
The symptoms are as follows:-
* The pre will connect and register the connection. However my BMW does not confirm the connection.
* Calls can be made directly from the pre with sound via the car. However, this cuts off after a short time.
* Incoming calls ring out via the car but can not be answered using the cars phone button on the steering wheel.
Everything was working fine until 1.4.0!
Is it possible to uninstall 1.4.0 and move back to old version?

WebOS 1.4 broke my BT connection to my BMW car kit too.
I have a 2007 525i, and had my Pre paired with my car's BT car kit. It worked flawlessly - until the WebOS 1.4 update. My symptoms are identical to simonspalm. Although, I discovered another issue today. Like simonspalm, I can place a call outbound via the car BT, if I dial from my Pre (if I try voice activated dialing from the car's BT, it starts but does not place the call). The new glitch I found is that when my Pre's screen goes to sleep, it cuts the BT connection to the car speakers/mic. I have to use the Pre as a handheld for the remainder of the call, even to hangup...or I can toggle the speaker back to BT and then keep pressing my Pre's button to prevent it idling to sleep (this is all way too much for me to handle while driving, I might add).
Palm, please fix this! Over on Precentral.net, many BMW users (of varied models and years, I think with the exception of the 2010 model year) are all reporting the same thing - the update to 1.4 broke the BT connection to their BMW BT's car kit.

Same here! My 2005 X5 and Pre were working together until this latest update.
Actually, BT connectivity has gotten WORSE every time Palm has released an update. When the Pre first came out, everything worked, the call/hangup button worked, and starting the car seamlessly transfered the call to the speaker phone.
THEN with 1.3, the call/hangup button broke (you could only place calls but not hang up), and calls required manually toggling the speaker button until you could get the bluetooth.
NOW, everything is pear-shaped with the problems above. The phone pairs with the car, but that's about it. It's now essentially useless.
Why have things gone downhill, and why does each release make blutooth LESS functional??
