Hotsynch failure (both cable & Bluetooth)

I'm in and endless loop of failure as I try to hotsynch my tungsten e2 with my  ey laptop running Windows 7.

It is supposedly Bluetooth capable.

1. When I downlad Palm OS6.2 everything goes smoothly until the installer tries to access the internet.  I get repeated messages that it can't access it despite the fact that I am already 0nline.

2. When I skip this step and go directly to Palm os 6.22 and try a hotsynch using the cable it fails repeated attempts to do this.

3. When I try to set laptop and Tungsten up for Bluetooth (my real preference) neither the laptop nor the handheld recognizes the other.  I've followed the steps to make the E2 visible.

4. I tried to do a clean uninstall as one of your solutions recommended but:

a. I couldn't see the relevant registry files to delete once I got to the current user\software listings.  No palm files to be seen;

b. when I went ahead and downloaded os 6.2 again I ran into the same failure to access the internet.

Incidentally, I have NO problems doing hotsynchs on my old 4.1.4 version of palm os running under Windows XP.

What to try next?  I doubt there's any hope of returning my Tungsten E2.

Please visit the Windows HotSync section of this forum where this subject has been discussed thousands of times.

Pay attention to the sticky post about 64bit drivers that have been available since April of last year.
