Hi, and welcome to the Palm Support Community.
Sorry that you sound so bitter, but it's not that Palm chose to purposely screw you or anyone else over, or "doesn't care about those of us that do not want Sprint."
Like a lot of new devices, the Pre was initially exclusive to Sprint, no doubt because Sprint paid for that exclusivity for marketing purposes. If you have read anything at all about the Pre, then you also know that it is speculated to be coming to Verizon early next year.

I'm guessing Palm did some sort of market analysis before shutting off support for AT&T, Verizon, etc... I used to be a Sprint customer but their support and their coverage was terrible. Switched to AT&T and won't go back, not even to get the Pre. I can't stand the iPhone as like everything else Apple produces, it's too **bleep** proprietary.
I'll get to the point. Palm used to be the leader in hand held devices and going sole source with Sprint is a terrible business plan. It may make short term capital sense, but the long term cost will be felt about the time you are wanting to offer your products to other cell phone customers. Most of us who like to refresh our phones don't like the idea of waiting a year for new products.
I'm in the market for a new phone now and not sure I'm going to wait for Palm to be "offered" by AT&T. The least you could do is give a date the phone will be available through AT&T and other companies. Leaving it open ended doesn't entice any of us to wait and see what happens.
