Battery life half as short after touchpad 3.0.4 update.....

When I first received my touchpad I was able to use it all day and the next until the battery was depleted. Now after the update it only lasts about a day and significantly depletes even in standby (which it didn't do before), and playing angry birds depletes it much faster than before.

Is there any way to undo the update? Or is there a fix for this somewhere? Anyone else have this issue? I'm almost 100% positive the problem started after the update was downloaded...

Re: Battery life half as short after touchpad 3.0.4 update.....

I just got my Touchpad, and I notice how fast it runs down in "standby."  I use that term in quotes because in "standby", the Touchpad is still receiving emails, reminding of events, etc.

For me, the real question is:  Where is the Hibernate mode (Windows XP terminology)?  Or where is the Fastboot (Android terminology)?  How can I turn off the Touchpad so that it doesn't use up the battery, yet bring it back to life within a few seconds?  If Windows XP and Android can do it, why can't webOS?

There is no hibernate mode for webOS.  However, you can put it into Airplane Mode which will greatly decrease battery usage.

It is possible to load webOS 3.0.2 onto your TouchPad.  You need to do that through webOS Doctor 3.0.2.  It's a program that you run on your computer with your TouchPad connected.  It will wipe the current OS and install webOS 3.0.2.  However, after a while webOS will attempt to auto-update to 3.0.4.  From what I understand, there are some things you can do to prevent this auto-update.  I am sure you can find the no auto-update instructions on the forums at PreCentral, as they are out of the focus of this forum.

Thank you. I'll try that.
