We have 2 HP Touchpads. We had to have the first one serviced for not charging on AC adaptor or Touchstone after a week of use. THe second is in transit back to HP for I think the same reason. It will not turn on or charge at all..definately a flaw in the design..I hope to get it back soon!!!

On my first touchpad, I had a usb cable that went bad and that seems to be an issue for many. Using a different one worked fine.
On my second touchpad, one morning after three days of using it, it seemed to be dead. Plugging it in would bring up the battery on screen and it would just sit there. All I needed was a little patience. After about 45 minutes of this battery on screen, the touchpad came back to life. Theory is, when the battery drains completely, it won't come back on until it has some serious juice.
Hope this helps for all you folks out there who say "the battery is there on screen but it is not charging". (And then I guess there can be a scenario where the battery just won't charge).

Well, it seems I am having similar battery charging issues. I gave up on the adapter and started to use the Touchstone. Then, the Touchstone started giving me problems as well. Also, it takes an enormous amount of time to charge this thing. It takes about four to five hours for me to charge it and it only stays charged for about three hours. I am not pleased with this thing right now.
I did use Palm chat support and they are going to have me send it in for repairs. Hopefully, we can get this figured out.
Oh, also...my clock won't keep proper time. I mean, seriously, how difficult is it?

For anyone having charging issues, my suggestion is to buy a sturdier cable.
I went through 5 different cables which break very easily then I discovered that my original Nook (Barnes and Noble, Nook) uses the same port. I plugged the cable into the Touchpad and plugged it into the wall, and have been charging perfectly since then. The Nook cable is much sturdier at the plug and much less likely to break than the one HP provides.

The charger seems to be working, lights on the center button. I can not turn on the touch pad, I have to hard boot by pressing both buttons and then all I get is a picture of a battery with a question mark in it.
