Re: HP Touchpad Blown Speaker

Both of my TouchPad speakers is no longer functioning even after rebooting and running with latest OS version.  It appears that this happened after I plug in Palm's stereo headset that I bought for my HP Veer.  Does anyone know if the TouchPad supports the use of the Palm headset?  Is it possible that I had shorted and blown something related to the speaker?

It could be a bad heaphone jack on the touchpad or maybe the touchpad is picky about the size of the earphone plug. There are folks at precentral taliking about the similar issue.

Re: HP Touchpad Blown Speaker

Sorry, I had my "Sound" option set to "off" under "Sounds & Ringtones" app in settings launcher window. After I set it to "on" and moved the "volume" bar, I hear sound out of the speakers. There is a diagnostic application that one can use to test the speakers. The "Device Info" app in settings launcher window has a "Diagnostics" option under the application menu (on the upper left corner - tap "Device Info"). It will bring up the various test options - select "Audio" to test the speakers. Hope this helps others with similar issue.

Re: HP Touchpad Blown Speaker

Hi! Noticed the same thing (non-working left-upper speaker) today. Doctored, not help. Headphones work ok, but headphones plug insert is unusally stiff (given that speakers are shut off when headphones are plugged, could it be that headphone plug has a problem?).

Re: HP Touchpad Blown Speaker

I found that after resetting my computer multiple times, all I needed to do was turn off Beats Audio for a minute. My speakers worked fine after that. I also turned Beats Audio back on and it worked fine.
