When I setup a Microsoft exchange account (server = m.hotmail.com), the email shows as text, not as HTML (as it should).
The same email shows correctly as HTML when I setup a Hotmail email account.
Is there a fix to this yet?
Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

My settings for a Hotmail account defaulted to "pop3.live.com" and I didn't have the option for an Exchange account - well, it rerouted it to a POP account. Either you have settings for a Microsoft Exchange Hotmail account I didn't know you could do, or just set up the account as "Email Account" in Add an Account and it should take care of the rest automatically.

I'm also experiencing the same problem.
It seems to be specifically related to hotmail via exchange as I am also using gmail via exchange with no problem (server=m.google.com).

An unfortunate situation given that HP and Microsoft are supposed to be partners...
A work-around for this is to configure your Hotmail or Live account as an Exchange account so that you can sync your contacts and calendar. Then, disable email sync for this account. Secondly, set up an additional POP account (using the same email address) to handle email sync.
There are limitations to using POP but at least you'll have HTML email. Thanks to Synergy this mostly works out.

I tried using the POP3 but It will not send emails using this configuration. However, I receive emails perfectly. Or I got a wrong configuration....
Incoming POP server | pop3.live.com |
Incoming POP mail port | 995 |
Outgoing SMTP server | smtp.live.com |
Outgoing SMTP port (primary) | 25 |
I have tried the outgoing with 587 and SSL, TLS and same results. It shows error saying that I can receive but will not be able to send.
In the meantime, I deleted and using the m.hotmail.com configuration but hate to see the text. This is wifi!!! should be HTML.

Thanks. Is working now. Resetted the TP. Needed to change country location and now success. Everything works. I even was able to setup 4 email accounts plus 2 repeated emails as Exchange. Need the exchange setup to be able to have access to all folders. The siblings are setup using POP3 to view in html. So now its all wonderfull, and forgot to mention, I can see all apps (free and paid ones) but that was another story. No idea what was wrong.
