I know I will get hammered for this....

But I have to ask.  As an owner of 3 touchpads I am starting to worry about how much use I will have for them in the future.  Looks like there is very little software coming out and you are starting to see companies pull support for existing apps.  (Example Time, SI, People)  Has anyone heard if Windows 8 is going to work on the Touch Pads?  Not really feeling Android so hoping there will be another alternative OS to drop on the TPs...

Re: I know I will get hammered for this....

Haven't heard anything about Win8, but I just installed CM9 on my 32GB touchpad yesterday with little effort.  Very happy so far!

Been loading it up with lots of apps from the Android market...  :smileyhappy:

Re: I know I will get hammered for this....

CM9 = "Cyanogen Mod 9" = Android ICS (the build for tablets named "Ice Cream Sandwich".)

Head over to webosnation.com and search for "CM9 touchpad" since this is not officially supported here on this forum.

However, if you're not that excited about Android, this may be of no interest to you...

Personally I'm having fun with two tablets built into one! :-)

Re: I know I will get hammered for this....

Windows 8 will not be available for the TP... Microsoft has confirmed that Windows on ARM will be an OEM-only product, not available as a separate SKU. Think of it as more like iOS or Windows Phone 7 than traditional Windows for PCs...
