where has my Skype app gone !

I performed a full reset last week and I'm pretty sure that this caused the app icon to disappear.

Do I need this app to use Skype ?

Open your "Contacts" app and pick someone that you have added their Skype account ID to. When you tap on their Skype ID, the Skype app should load.

Or, open your "Phone & Video Calls" app and look for someone that you have already entered their Skype ID into their "Contacts" info.

Make sure you still have your own Skype info loaded into your "Accounts", located in your "Settings" tab

can't do. Only had my pad for a week when I had to reset. I didn't even have Skype set up. heeeelp

The TouchPad doesn't have a Skype app. Skype data is integrated to the native apps through the Synergy feature. Just open up the Accounts app, add you Skype account, then sit back and watch all your Skype contacts show up in Contacts. You can also use the Phone app to make VoIP/Video calls/

Is it possible to add a new Skype contact from TP? Or do you still have to use a desktop Skype app for that?

You can add a new contact (or add to a current contact) via your Contacts app and under "New IM Address" choose Skype from the list of 15 odd items listed.
