Hi, I have a Touchpad that will not turn on unless I do a hard reset with the power and center buttons. After shutting down the touchpad, it does not turn on with the power button as it should normally, unless I wait an unkown period of time after which it does turn or I do the hard reset by holding the power and center buttons. This also occurs when I try to do a restart, the device turns off but does not turn back on. Is there a way to see why this is the case? The charger works fine when the device is on and I have also tried doctoring it but the problem is still there. It has always done this since I got it, so I have just learnt to deal with it by leaving the device on and never shutting down, but it would be useful to find out a solution to this problem.
Thanks

Hmm, I am not sure why you should have such trouble. I see you Doctored the TP, good. Usually, Doctoring is the last ditch effort before calling HP Support. Are you running any special Patches or kernels from Preware?

I don't think so, but sometimes if a user is running an experimental kernel there could be problems. If you don't know whether you have patches or kernels installed, then I am confident you do not. So that rules out the possibility of your troubles being from patches or kernels. Hmm.
I'm not sure what to tell you. Since this has been happening ever since you got the TouchPad, I lean more towards it being a hardware malfunction. I assume during the time since you bought it and now, you've had at least one webOS update applied? Maybe 3.0.4 to 3.0.5? If you've had the chance to have at least one update and the problem persists, and you've Doctored it and the problem persists, I would think it's hardware.
In that case there's really only one thing to do: call HP Support. They may authorize an RMA for you.
