Palm profile language change

When the lady at the sprint office set up my pre. She some how selected spanish as the language. We got the phone in english but my Palm profile still says spanish. This wouldnt bother me but for some reason the universal search pulls up the spanish google. I have to switch it to english and re-google. It is a bit annoying. I am not sure if the palm profile has anything to do with this but it is the only thing I can think of.

Is there a way I can change this without eraseing? If not there should be.

Thanks, fain

Re: Palm profile language change

Try clearing your cache in the web application. Maybe that'll help.

Do you have anything on your Pre that won't be restored if you erase? I've erased my Pre several times (I let a couple of people borrow it and didn't want them horning in on my racket), and it's astoundingly painless to restore your settings after you reset. When you log back in to your existing Palm Profile, all the accounts you set up are still there (Exchange, Google/Gmail, whatever).

Because, yeah, I just tried changing the language on my Pre to Spanish (through the "Language" app) and when I log into www.palm.com/palmprofile it still shows English.

I think erasing is the only way you can do it, unless you call Palm and their agents have some secret way of accessing the Palm Profile from the back end.

Re: Palm profile language change

Whoops, I said clear "cache" - I should have said clear "cookies". If it's doing what I think it's doing, it's setting a language/region cookie for Google search when you set up language.

Heck, clear 'em all. Can't hurt.

Re: Palm profile language change

Hey thanks for replying. Yes I have done a lot of things to my pre that I would rather not erase. I will try clearing my cookies when I get home. I don't see why there is not a option on the palm preofile just to change it. Seems kinda silly. Thanks again :smileyhappy:

Hi Fain.

Palm has logged this in its software issue tracking system. We endeavor to continuously improve our software quality and thank you for bringing this to our attention.  We are grateful to the community and will evaluate options based on customer feedback and software best practices.

Re: Palm profile language change

Hey guys

I accidently set my language to German on my phone somehow and when I put my sim card in I can't get into the phone to reset it, is there any way to hard reset the phone and the language, I've tried doing the erase device in palm profile but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Thanks in advance

Press and hold Option + Sym + power button and continue holding for 10 seconds after the Full Erase screen appears.
