Set options for unlocking the screen
The screen locks five seconds (you can change this interval) after it turns off automatically, or immediately if you press power to turn off the screen. Use Secure Unlock if you want to require a PIN or a password to unlock the screen.
Tip If your company issued your device to you, check with your system administrator whether the company has its own settings for locking and unlocking the screen of your device.
Important Be sure to write down your PIN or password and keep it somewhere safe. If you forget your PIN or password, you need to remotely reset your device and you may lose data.
Tip To change your PIN or password, under Secure Unlock, tap Change PIN or Change Password. Enter the old PIN/password and the new PIN/password.
Get notifications when the screen is locked or off
A notification alerts you to an incoming or missed call; an incoming voicemail, email, or text message; an upcoming event; and more. A notification can be a message that appears at the bottom of the screen or a blinking light in the gesture area.
Use voice dialing when the screen is locked
On devices running HP webOS 2.x, if you turn on the preference to use voice dialing when the screen is locked, you access voice dialing by turning on the screen if it is off, and then pressing and holding volume. You do not need to enter your PIN or password to unlock the screen.
If this preference is on and you have a headset attached to your phone, you can access voice dialing when the screen is locked by pressing and holding the button on the headset—you don’t need to turn the screen on first.
