We get these two questions asked repeatedly here on the HP Support Community Forum. The unfortunate answer is always the same:
"We cannot provide an answer - HP's official policy does not allow this type of communication". ![]()
Palm Inc.(now HP) throughout its history has never publicly released future update schedules for devices or OS's, nor have they freely supplied this "inner sanctum" knowledge to the folks who diligently work here to try and provide answers to the questions posted. The plain fact is: Most of us here just don't have this information to give!
When updates have been tested, certified by the Cell Provider for whom they are intended, and HP feels they are ready for the world, that's when they get released, and also when we here find out about it/them. HP Employees (those identified with the blue "HP" logo beneath their nicknames) are all covered by an "NDA" - a "Non-Disclosure Agreement". Even if they had access to the future plans, they could lose their jobs by revealing the desired information and be sued...
Yes, to many folks coming here for answers, this can be maddening/frustrating/aggravating etc. It would really be informative if the CEO of HP came here with daily updates, but that's just not going to happen. HP is still trying to push the updates out as fast as possible, but it takes more than a "snap of the finger" to bring them to fruition.
My intent of this post is not to revive old flames, but to simply answer a commonly asked question that keeps arriving here. This is the purpose of a "Sticky Post".
