I have a Pre 2 (webOS v2.0.1) p102ueu and I am under the impression that there is a webOS update from v2.0.1 to 2.1 for this device. When I try to run System Updates I get a message that my system is up to date, but that there was an error and I should retry. This has occurred for the last three days. I have tried rebooting and this had no effect. Can someone please advise me what I might be doing wrong?

Hello!
You device should see the 2.1 update but since you are having this issue for days, you will need to update via the webOS doctor option. Go to www.palm.com/ROM to run the doctor on your phone. It will repair the problem and update to 2.1 at the same time. Be sure to backup you phone prior for its like a partial erase.

Hello,
Has anybody outside of US and other Palm supporting countries been able to update to 2.1? I live in Denmark and can not get the update OTA. Before I try using the Web Doctor I would like to know if any of you has succeeded upgrading using Web Doctor.

I too cannot update, in Australia, unlocked GSM Pre 2 from HP direct.
I've raised cases about this, I've whinged and moaned, to no avail thus far.
I do not see why I should have to lose my SMS's and whatnot -- this OTA update should just work.
The doctor should at least have an upgrade mode, and not completely wipe the device (as well as a full wipe if wanted).

I totally agree that having to erase the phone to do an advertised OTA update is unacceptable. But in my opinion HP or more accurately the Palm portion are not really on the ball, and never have been. So I am not surprised that they have yet again failed, and annoyed their diminishing community. A ridiculous state of affairs and one that goes to explain why the Palm is an also-ran in the smart phone race...

For specifically the phone this it is up to date and the device is NOT a Verizon Pre2, try both the carrier data connection and wifi so see one over other works. Otherwise, immediate solution would be use of the webos doctor. Do appologize for this circumstance ![]()

does it tell you the phone is update to date or getting error? Tried both 3G data and wifi. Please keep me posted.
