Re: I want to sve my Palm TX data to my new iPhone via, if neccessary my iMac with Leopard 10.5. How

I have a similar problem.  Since Palm doesn't support Mac OS 10.6, I need to move my data from my palm to my iPod Touch.

I'm working on the problem now, and have my Schedule migrated, but now need to get my ToDo, Address Book and Memos done.

The 10.6 Address Book (v5.0.1) doesn't support the Palm's custom fields like Tiger's Address Book (4.0.6).  I can't yet find a way to export the Palm's ToDos in a format that iCal can consume, and Notes on the iPod (for my Memos, possibly) is not supported on 10.6 yet for my iPod Touch.

1 step forward, 3 steps back, so far; but absolutely necessary, now that Palm has withdrawn from the Mac market.

Any ideas on these 3 problem areas, from anyone, would be most welcome.

Re: I want to sve my Palm TX data to my new iPhone via, if neccessary my iMac with Leopard 10.5. How

Further to my original message I have made some progress, at least with my Contacts/Address book and my Diary/iCal.   Other sites said to save the entire Palm address book as an vCard file.  This didn't work because everytime I tried to save the Palm Desktop crashed and the saved file contained no content!    But I perservered and found that I could highlight a handful (up to about 75 names at a time)  in the Palm Desktop addresses and drag them to the Mac desktop where they saved as individual vCards.  These could all then be dragged into the Mac Address Book in the dock.  Then when I synched the iPhone with the Mac they were inserted there.  Time consuming but it was beter than reentering all the files one at a time!!   The data needed cleaning once in Address book, but that may have been partly because I hadn't always put the right numbers in the correct boxes (ie mobile in home etc).

Other sites, particularly Apple Forums, said a similar solution would work for the vCal data in the Palm Diary; ie save the  diarydata as a vCal file and then imort that file into the iCal program, this sort of worked but needed a lot of tidying up once it was in the iCal.

So it took a weekend, but now it's all there.

Hope this helps

How did you take care of transferring your ToDo list and Memos?  I got the Calendar and all Address data except the Palm Custom fields, but these other two functions are where I'm stuck.
