For years I used a Palm Tungsten and a PC running Windows XP. I don't know what Palm Desktop version I was using on the PC but it's at least six or seven years old. The Palm died (my fault). The PC died (the PCs fault).
I now use a Mac G5 (non Intel) running OSX 10.411. I've installed the Palm Desktop (4.2.1) on the Mac. I don't presently have a (working) Palm device so the Desktop is a clean install. I was hoping to import the data from my backups and use it as a stand alone product until I get a new Palm device.
My backups were on a PC formatted external hard drive which did not die. The Mac will read from the drive and open most of the files as long at they're supported by software installed on the Mac.
BUT... The Mac version of Palm Desktop doesn't seem to support the backup files. It shows them but they are grayed out even when the Import options are set to the default enable "all readable documents." Since the Palm is dead I can't synchronize it.
Is there a trick, conversion software, etc? Or am I just out of luck because of different operating systems and software versions?
