Lost all info on handheld.

The battery ran out on my Tungsten E2 and much, but not all, data was lost for some bizarre reason.  I use a mac at home and a pc a work.  I would normally just sync with my up-to-date work computer, but I lost my job and have no access.  I do, however, have the current data from the pc on a flash drive.  Anybody know how I can put the current data onto my mac and then sync my E2 to the mac?  I am running Mac OSX 10.5  I gave up on synching at home over a year ago because it doesn't work very well and caused more headaches than was worth the effort  (I thought.)  Thanks, and be patient, I'm not too savvy.

Re: Lost all info on handheld.

The PC formats does not work on a Mac unfortunately. If you can get access to a PC we can walk you though the data recovery.

Post back if you have more questions.

Re: Lost all info on handheld.

Thanks The Poet 15.

I have recovered the data on the handheld.  Now I just need to know how to transfer it to my Mac.  OSX 10.5.  I have the Palm software installed but it's not recognizing the hot sync.  I appreciate any help you can provide.

Re: Lost all info on handheld.

Thank you for your reply.

After several minutes, literally, the error message reads: the HotSync operation was interrupted.  Some of your data was not backed up.  View log for more details.

The log reads:

OK Install

iSync Conduit starting 11/3/09 2:37:39 PM

Timeout waiting for Sync Engine, exiting 11/3/09 2:43:39 PM

iSync Conduit synchronization failed

“iSync Conduit” failed (error = #-2)

OK Media

OK Note Pad

OK Memos

Memo Pad did nothing

OK Install

    Backed up Queries.pdb

    Backed up Speed1.0_dilP.pdb

    Backed up ExpenseDB.pdb

Backed up Solitaire Pack 1 Saved Game.pdb

    Backed up eReader Preferences.pdb

    Backed up AddressCitiesDB.pdb

    Backed up AddressCompaniesDB.pdb

    Backed up AddressStatesDB.pdb

OK Backup

Last sync time and PC ID updated on handheld

HotSync Complete 11/3/09 2:44:06 PM

Since I've had trouble with the mac synching, I haven't done it for well over a year.  However, I have to get this figured out now, as I no longer have access to a PC (lost my job).  Could it be that I need to download new, improved mac software updates?  Thank you very much for your support.

Re: Lost all info on handheld.

Are you syncing to the Mac address book and iCal or to Palm Desktop. If it is to the Mac software this link may help http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/24815_en.html

Re: Lost all info on handheld.

Unfortunately I reached the end of my troubleshooting. WIth that though you may want to try our chat service. They do help with Mac support plus they can log into your computer and they should be able to fix the support.
