For many years, once weekly, I synch my G3 laptop (OS 9.2.2) Memos with my Tungsten T3.. overwriting my palm with about 2,500 memos from my mac's Palm desktop.. T3 in a cradle & connected USB. The process takes about 12 hours. A friend said recently that the process sounded too long.. is it .. if so what can I do to speed it up? If this is the expected time for synchronisation I don't really mind as I sleep thru it.. but still.. worth asking.
Post relates to: Tungsten T3

Not sure it if will speed up the process, but why don't you just Sync the Memos instead of forcing a complete re-write?
If you're worried about data loss, backup your Palm user folder elsewhere on the Mac before attempting the process.
I'm assuming you've changed the conduit settings for Memos from "Synchronize" to "Desktop overwrites Handheld", correct?

Finally solved the problem .. may help someone else .. things got worse for a while... getting shut-down & start-up alerts that the "palm desktop out of memory".. then Palm Desktop refused to launch with an alert "disk is full". I found that my "user data" file was 1.99 Gig !! ... I trashed it, re-imported my data-file data [ I don't enter manually into Palm Desktop.. I import a tab-return file created from another database I created in Hypercard] into Palm Desktop .. and every thing works smoothly.. my hotsynch now takes only 5 minutes. So even though I thought I was deleting data from the desktop app before re-importing fresh data, it was still adding incrementally to my user data file which sat in my documents folder.... and over several years it got big enough to slow things down dramatically then gum up the works entirely. I'll just have to remember to trash it regularly.
