Sync TX 5.4.9 with Mac

TX 5.4.9 wont sync with Mac Snow Leopard. I installed Mark Space software 'Missing Sync for Palm OS' but it assumes the Mac should override the Palm -I work the other way round. Should I uninstall Mark Space and Snow Leopard and install Leopard and my lovely old Palm desktop manager?

Re: Sync TX 5.4.9 with Mac

Hello gemstone and welcome to the Palm forums.

It looks like you are correct, The Missing Sync won't allow you to set their implementation of the conduit manager to allow the PDA to overwrite data on the Mac; according to part of this HotSync troubleshooter I was reading.  It states:

"When you look at the Sync History log and see that there are no errors in the log, but find that the records did not sync as you expected, there are a number of possible reasons.

1. Conduit configuration. Go to Missing Sync, double click on the conduit:

- See if it is configured to 'Synchronize' or 'Overwrite handheld with desktop data'.

- See if it is set to sync all calendars/groups/categories or selected calendars/groups/categories (depending on what plugin you’re looking at.)

- With the Mark/Space Events  and Mark/Space Tasks  conduits see what calendar is used for the option "Put items from 'read-only' calendars into". Change it if necessary.

- With Mark/Space Events check the setting for "Ignore desktop events older than:"

- With Mark/Space Tasks check the setting for "Ignore desktop tasks older than:"

- With Mark/Space Notes conduit verify which application it is configured to sync with: Mark/Space Notebook, Microsoft Entourage, and Yojimbo (1.3+)"

Without contacting Mark/Space, you may need to uninstall the Missing Sync and reinstall Palm Desktop 4.2.1 Rev D for Mac OS X.

Re: Sync TX 5.4.9 with Mac

With the Mark/Space conduits that sync with iCal and Address Book you are unable to configure them to have the device overwrite the Mac. But if it is set to synchronize then it should merge what is on the device with what is on the Mac. If you want to sync with Palm Desktop still, you can still use that, but you will have to reactivate the conduits which will still be able to overwrite the Mac if you so choose.

It sounds like you need to contact Mark/Space support directly. You can create a ticket by going to:

I'm sure they will help you get things working.

Re: Sync TX 5.4.9 with Mac

I personally didnt gain anything from the Missing Sync or the Snow Leopard functionality that I valued as much as Palm Desktop - so couldnt be bothered to follow it up.  So I have reinstalled Leopard and Palm Desktop. And my old digital camera is uploading properly again now too.  However it was an expensive process as I had to get a professional to do it and it took him 4 hours. Ouch!
