I use CompanionLink to sync between Goldmine and my Pre. Every time I sync, some, but not all, of my Speed Dials get corrupted. In particular, my personal Goldmine record in the Pre ends up with a number of Speed Dial Undefined buttons. When I edit my personal record on the Pre and remove an Undefined button from, say, my fax number (which I never associated with a Speed Dial), some of the Speed Dials are just dropped and I have to reenter them.
The folks at CompanionLink contend it is an issue with the Pre, but I'm not convinced that is the case.
Has anyone else had this experience?

It sounds like the some of the contacts are being overwritten with new data. So when you sync the sync is going one way. There is no way for us to test this as the device is not setup to sync though USB out of the box. As a test pick a contact on your Pre that is having this behavior. Then change a field such as his/her first name on both the desktop and the Pre. Make sure its different data. Say the persons name was Michael on the Pre change this to Mike and on the Desktop change it to Mikey. Then sync and see what happens.
What my coworkers and I think is that the sync is changing something. But we do not know how it works. Also if this was a Pre problem customers using EAS, and Google would have reported this earlier. You are correct to assume it is their software causing this. Since they developed a way to sync though USB.
