I'm about to get a new iPhone but I don't want to give up my Palm desktop calendar. I was looking at Outlook but it looks like there's no place for all the Memos that I have in my Palm software plus I'm used to using the Palm calendar. Is there, or do you know if there will be, a way to import the Palm data into the iPhone? Or is there some 3rd party software to buy that will put the Palm desktop onto the iPhone and sync it some way? I hate to carry around my Palm Zire72 plus the phone if I can get all the data into one device. Maybe I should just buy a Palm Centro but the iPhone seems so much more internet friendly.
Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the Palm Forums,
Outlook as a memos feature they call it a different name notes. By any chance do you have the CD that came with your Zire 72? If so you can put the CD in and then change the conduits from the CD to outlook and then sync your device from there to put in outlook. Keep in mind that you will need the full version of outlook and not outlook express.
Post back if you have more questions or don't have your CD we can help you from there

Thank you for using the Palm Help Forums
You might want to google search iClink.
It works with the following:

I don't have the original CD.
Is Outlook as good as the Palm Desktop? Would I need to do a lot of cleaning up of the entries if I decided to use it? Wish someone would just develop something to sync the Palm desktop with the iPhone!

If you check my co-workers post there is a program that looks like it can sync from the iPhone to Palm Desktop. As to your question, outlook is more powerful of a program and can do a lot more than Palm Desktop does. But if you like the interface of the Palm Desktop use that. If you want to use outlook, there is two options you can backup your data and download a latest version of palm desktop located here http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/windesk41

I have a very similar question to nuttinga. I also want to synch Palmdesktop to my iPhone. However, in my case, I use Mac (OS 10.4). I like a day-by-day to-do-list of a Palmdesktop and therefore cannot switch to iCal.
Is there any solution to synch Palmdesktop to an iPhone?
I checked iClink and companion link. However they do not seem to work on Mac (maybe I am wrong). I have sent an inquiry about this to companion link, but they never reply to me...

I have a new iPhone. Before I gave my Treo 650 to my Norwegian g'dtr (thus it is not available for me to hot sync again) I managed to migrate my files to Microsoft Outlook. Somehow (no one at Apple seems to know) all of my calendar, contacts, to do and memos were deleted from my hard drive. I am attempting to migrate my old Palm files to OUtlook so I can use them with the iPhone. The only possibility seems to be iClink but it seems excessive to require $39 + $99 to achieve this.
Another family member also has a Treo 650 but is not available for a while assuming I would be able to reconfigure his Palm to take my data down and migrate to Outlook.
I am using Windows Vista and Outlook 2007.
Does anyone have any more realistic ideas?
Lost in technology "cloud"

I've now got my palm data into Outlook. I used pocketcopy. After I download the new palm software, what do I do? Do I need to delete all the palm software and/or data on my computer before I install the new software? Do I need to delete the palm data on my palm handheld? Any hints for success? Thanks.

For all those lost souls that want to migrate their Palm (whatever model) to iPhone, please don't fall for buying expensive softwre that claims to do that! or use the horribly bloated Outlook. There is a VERY simple way to transfer all your data correctly, painlessly and in just a few minutes:
In Palm desktop export a vCard to your desktop (name it something like Palm2iPhone)
Import that vCard into your AddressBook (PC or Mac)
In iTunes (since you are talking about iPhone I assume you have iTunes!)plug in your iPhone and go to your device (the iPhone) and look for the info tab. In Contacts sync Address Book Contacts, THAT'S IT!
Enjoy
