I have Z22 that is dying, will any newer Palm model sync with the Palm Z22 information backed up on my computer ? I think I want to buy a newer model and not pay to fix what I have now.

I think Z22 was one of the last Palm OS products ever offered, so unfortunately there is not a later Palm OS model to purchase. webOS is the new thing. A different beast from Palm OS
If you want to make the switch to webOS, there is a tool that sucks your existing data out of Palm Desktop and lets you import it into an online account of your choosing (Google, Yahoo, Exchange, etc.). Then you set up your new mobile device to sync with that online account. See www.hpwebos.com/migrate-webos
There are also apps that let you sync Palm Desktop with online accounts (which you can then sync with a webOS device), or apps that let you sync a webOS device directly with Palm Desktop (kind of a pain, but some users like it).
I'd say, the easiest way is to just suck your Palm Desktop stuff into one of those online accounts using the Data Transfer Assistant at www.hpwebos.com/migrate-webos
