Windows 7 Bluetooth support

My 64 bit computer was syncing fine with Bluetooth on Vista.  I upgraded to Windows 7.  I then upgraded my Bluetooth stack from Toshiba.  The Bluetooth seems to work fine.  From my Treo 650, I can see and select my computer.  When adding a new device from my computer, I identify and select my 650.  When it asks for a passkey I entered 0000.  I then tried to do a hotsync but got timed out.  I receive an error message on my 650, "you must add your Bluetooth phone to your trusted device list."  I do this but still cannot get a hotsync even though both devices see each other.  Any suggestions?

Re: Windows 7 Bluetooth support

It sounds like that the Toshiba stack you upgraded to makes it so you can no longer connect the 650. Are you able to try a different bluetooth computer/dongle? Unfortunately as for Windows 7 support, we have not done testing with this OS to know if it will work reliably. Before we get that far I want to see if is just an incompatibly between the new Toshiba stack and device.

Re: Windows 7 Bluetooth support

I downloaded the latest Bluetooth stack for W7 from Toshiba.

My Treo650  sees the computer and the computer see the 650.  But in the setup program, after selecting the 650 phone, I get a message that it does not see the phone,  I go back and select the 650 again but cannot get any further.  I wonder if there is a problem with the latest stackinstaller?

Re: Windows 7 Bluetooth support

It could be the problem, if it is you would need to see if your manufacture can help with that or a computer technician. Keep in mind that the 650 is older hardware/software, and may not work with newer software, even if it is the same hardware.

Re: Windows 7 Bluetooth support

[ Edited ]

Hello, I'm having a similar issue.

I have a Treo 650, that has worked fine in the past on both Windows XP & Vista for hotsyncs via USB cable. I now have a new laptop that is running Windows 7 (W7) I read another post about setting up the hotsync via Bluetooth and gave this a try, I'm able to get the phone & laptop to discover one another, and I'm even able to send files (I sent a picture for a test) to my phone, but I can't seem to find any place to just tell them to HOTSYNC?

The hotsync manager just has the settings, there is not hotsync button there, and on the phone in the hotsync screen it's asking for either "cradle/cable" or "IR to a PC/Handheld" on the "Local" setting. And for the "Modem" setting none of those options seems to make sense, as it's asking for the phone number to the modem, and I'm tring to use the Bluetooth to perform this sync.

Any tips?
