OK, I just bought an M515,  to replace my venerable, can't kill it , Vx.

It came, but every attempt to run it (after charging) it comes up with some medical logging application.

I know the palm stuff is under there, cause once i was able to set the time and date, but it always comes up to:

"PHT - Firsthand knowledge"

Logpad

biodelivery services

FEN-201 FEN-202

So, is there any way to get rid of this, and have a "vanilla" M515?

Hard reset did not work.

I see posts about "re-flashing" the ROM, but a messup there yields a paerweight.

help?

hi,

during the hard reset, did you see a screen where it says 'erase all data'?
and did you press up button for confirmation?

if so, i do not know such software to update the unit
or fix the problem..

maybe we will try to check some answers from moderators and tech support people

Yes, I did get this prompt, and Did "erase all data"

did not remove the PHT software.

Hi,

  We just got a m515 and it did pretty much the same thing.  I contacted support from where we purchased it and they gave me these instructions (and it worked):

Perform a hard reset.  Choose yes, to erase all data.  As soon as the Palm logo goes off the screen (and before PHT comes up), quickly press the buttons on the sides of the center button in this order:

   Far left two times

    Far right two times

   Middle left two times

     Middle right two times

Perform another hard reset (I didn't do this, and it seems to be okay.)   Maybe you have already fixed yours or gotten rid of it by now.  Just trying to help.
