Very tough to see text on screen!
Hand-held charges OK; battery icon shows fully charged. Will sync OK with desktop.
Have yet to try soft or hard reset. Maybe I've messed up a setting?

Maybe the brightness setting has been altered. You can access this setting on the home screen.
