Desktop help

I was using the desktop as a calendar without the dead Palm E.  When I needed to a clean reinstall on the Win7 - 64 I saved the .dba and .mdb files.  I downloaded and installed  Win414 desktop but is says the .dba file is corrupt.  I tried the desktop repair tool to no effect.

Re: Desktop help

When you are using the file, are you importing the file into Palm Desktop using file-import or copying and pasting the file in your username folder?

This file is an archive file and can only be used for importing. If you are trying to import the file and receiving the error, there is nothing that can be done that I am aware of.

You stated you have .mdb files, what are the names of those files. Typically those are Palm Desktop 6.2 data files that you may be able to copy and paste into the username folder in PD 6.2 and restore the data. Once restored, you can export the data, clean uninstall PD 6.2 again, install 4.1.4 and import the data to see if you can restore the data. If you do not sync, then you only have 1 data file to work with for each component in PD. When you sync there are 2 files created, a current data file and a backup data file. They are named for example, address.mdb for the current data file and address.mdb.bak for a backup file for PD 6.2. For earlier versions of PD, the files would be named address.dat and address.bak. You would find these files in your username folder.
