Hi, my messaging feature stopped working.
If I try to access it, like I do daily, I get the "thinking" circle for a few seconds then it goes back to the main menu. I cant access it at all, it's like it froze. I have tried soft reseting, taking the battery out, several times but it does the same. I even deleted the last message, which had a picture, through the file manager but nothing....what can I do, if anything?
I would rather not do a full reset if possible!
Help, anyone, thanks, Iovanna

Unfortunately a "full reset" is what is needed here. At some point a corruption got on your device. Now we call a "full reset" a hard reset. This link can show you how one is done. http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=887.
Now this will remove all your data from the phone. You can back up your data thought activesync and outlook so you do not lose anything. I would recommend this before you do a hard reset of the device. If you have any questions post back we would like to help you.

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums! ![]()
Well, this seems like a very strange issue. I understand that you do not want to do a hard reset but it would be the only way to reset the device back to full. If you do not want to do a hard reset because of memory loss, you can sync your device to your PC to backup your data. You will need to install the Palm Desktop and Hotsync Manager to sync to your PC. I'll be glad to assist you in that if you need.
A hard reset will erase all data on your device but restore settings back to default (I'm positive this will resolve your issue as well). For further information and instruction on a hard reset please visit kb.palm.com and look up article number 42094 in the solution ID search field.
The only thing I can think of that would cause an issue like this is a 3rd party application or corrupted data. If you have installed a 3rd party app recently, you can try to remove it but a hard reset still may be needed.
I hope this helps and let me know if you have any further questions.

Sorry, but I'm confused now! Is the Sync Center and the Hot Sync Manager the same thing? I have Sync Center, but just tried to upgrade to HotSync but my Treo 750 is not in the list.
However, I do synchronize regularly but I want to make sure that after I do the reseting I can get the right info back on my palm.
Last year I tried it and somehow it backed up from my cel into my comp instead of the other way around, basically I lost everything!! Hence, my apprehension to doing it again.
How can I make sure I get the last backup from my comp into my device, not the other way around. Sorry, but I'm stressed out already and I haven't even reset it yet. By the way, is there anyway, I can back up all my text messages so that I can have them again on my cel after full reset?? What about ringtones? I just can find these options!!
Is there a phone number I can call and have someone check this with me, and do the reset with me??? or maybe a livechat ? I'll be more comfortable doing the process....Thanks again

Hi again,
So far everything is working as usual. However, maybe you can help me with my old texts. I saved a copy of the file into my storage card, then did the reset and copied it back to where it was. Obviously, I missed something cuz I can't see the old messages. Can I retrive these or are they lost for good? It's really not a big deal but I did have some conversations w clients that I wanted to keep.
thanks again, Iovanna
