Hey guys! I need some help with my Zire 31. I can't find the original CD, but I was browsing around the forum when I saw a reply that you may download the software from the site - which has the latest updates, etc [Palm Desktop by ACCESS] . Well, I did that thinking it would have all the features such as for photos and the music, but nothing.
I'm trying to get my photos on my Zire 31 - I see the photos on the desktop but when I sync thinking it'll be on my Zire 31, it isn't. Also, I have an SD card and all that reads is the info on the card and nothing else.
Are there any apps on the site that I can download for the photos to get on my Zire 31? I was thinking about buying the CD from eBay, but then I saw a few topics where the app for the photos were missing, so that would be a waste.
I'd really appreciate you help! Thanks!
btw, I'm on Windows 7.

The 4.x downloadable versions of Palm Desktop do not include the Media conduit. Version 6.2.2 does include it.
Please read the "Windows 7 and Vista HotSync instruction..." thread at the top of the Windows Hotsync section of this forum for guides how to sync.

Okay, so I went throught that thread and it barely had info relating to Zire 31...
I CAN sync with Windows 7 for my Zire 31; the problem is getting the photos to sync - I don't know if I'm supposed to add an app or something to be able for the photos to sync

You are correct - looking at the support pages for the Zire31 on Palm.com, I see the Media program is not included on the device. You will need to get another disk as it is not available for download.
Usedpdaparts.com has them for sale for $10.00 http://www.usedpdaparts.com/Software.html
If you didn't format the card in your Palm, there are supposed to be 3 main folders:
/AUDIO (music files)
/DCIM (Digital Camera IMages)
/Palm/Launcher
If your pictures are not in the /DCIM folder, they won't be found once the Media program is installed.

Hi. I had trouble with the same thing. I can't do a quick install at all since I got a computer with Vista. I recently tried to see if I could put photos on my SD card so I could view them from my Zire 31 but it didn't work. Then when I checked the SD card again from my computer, I realised there was a new folder on it called DCIM. Upon opening that folder there was another folder called Palm Photos. If you open up that folder, you can copy your photos in. Place your SD card back in your Zire and open Photos. Tada! NB: You must put the SD card into the Zire before copying photos. Opening up Photos on the Zire places the appropriate files and launcher on the SD card. Good luck!

My current Zire 31 has "gone south"; I have a new one on the way can someone advise me of the process to transfer the data stored on my computer to the replacement Zire 31. I performed a hot sync just prior to the old Zire 31 busting.
