Hi guys,
I'm new to webos (2.0.1). I've tried setting up my main gmail account with my Pre2 using the Google Account option.
Email and contacts sync up fine, but then I get an error saying something like "this account is not set up for calendars" and the calendar switch is set to off. (contacts, email, msg switch stays on)
Even if I then switch it to on, the calendar wont sync at all.
Is this a known problem? I've never had a problem syncing my google calendars on my iPad, Android or my old Treo. It also happens on my other google and google apps accounts.
Oh, and if I try using EAS instead, it wont sync anything. email, contacts, calendars, etc.
I need my calendars! Help!

Hello!
Make sure for new google accoutns to go to google.com/calendar at least once to activate them, thus that error on the phone. When you do turn on calendar, can you make a google calendar entry on the device and then sync now to see if it all the sudden works?
Otherwise with the issues you're having:
1. Remove ALL accounts from the phone via the accounts application except Palm Profile.
2. Go to the Backup application and perform a manual backup.
3. Go into device info -> Reset Options -> Erase apps and data.
After reboot, readd the google account back in to see how that fairs. Keep me posted.

Ok that's different from the usual account is locked errors I see. Is this a regular google account, using a google.com domain, or is a google app account, using a non google.com domain? This error should only crop up on new google accounts that calendar has not yet been opened...

Hrm, I tried making a totally new google account and the calendar seems to work, so maybe its something about my google account?
Strange, I've always synced if fine with all my other gadgets. I even backed up my calendar and tried deleting everything off of it and tryed to re-sync, and still no go.
I think there is something wrong on the google calendar end of things here... is there any way to "reset" the google calendar?

Apparently, I'm not the only one with this problem. Seen it on other boards as well.
Seems WebOS2 is somehow incorrectly interpreting something from the google server as stating the calendar account is not activated, when it is?

No. I think palm thinks the problem is on the google server side...
but I'm having no problem with my android phone and ipad to access the calendar.
I've had to transfer my calendars to another gmail account which doesnt seem to be affected, but then there's the dreaded replicating event bug.
OMG, this better be fixed with 2.1, I'm getting frustrated!

Subscribed to any no calendars recently? Tried disabling them?
It could be there is a bit of data in the google calendar that is corrupt and our device cannot recognize it. This can be a bit time consuming but worked in the past by:
1. Remove the google account from the device first and restart the device.
2. Exporting all the google calendars in the google account from you r computer. Doesnt matter the formate for it will be imported back in.
3. Wipe out the google calendar through your pc and logout.
4. Log back into the google calendar and import the exported data.
The export/import process does tend to filter out any corrupted data. I dont think the google is the problem but probably a bit of data in it our device cannot understand. Please keep me posted if this fails, because it works fine for others or another account may not mean it is not our problem.
