Just to follow up on the earlier post, I performed a hard reset and created a new palm profile with a different email address, that part worked fine.

But I got the same error message when I tired to add my existing google account.

So I set up a new google account and I still get the same error when I try to add it.

I am having the same issue on my Touchpad (webOS 3.0.2) with my main Gmail account and the calendar. Currently, it does not have any of the listed "special characters" which are 'known' to cause problems, but is still getting the "Unknown Error" message for syncing the calendar.
