I recently upgraded to a Palm Pre 2 from a Pixi Plus running 1.4 and have had some problems with using both my google apps account (this is a google apps for education account with a umail.iu.edu domain name) and a normal gmail account in chat. Both accounts work fine as far as syncing the callendar, contacts, and email.
On the Pixi (I had a pre plus which behaved the same way also) I had both of these accounts set up in messaging without a problem. When I switched to webos 2.0.1 I experienced some strange behavior. When I have messaging activated for both google accounts I cannot send chat messages through my gmail account. When I attempt to send a message to an online contact the message appears with a yellow triangle next to it (an no, I don't get a "contact is offline, send message anyway?" error, there is no error reported on the screen unless you click on the message besides the yellow triangle). I am able to reveive messages fine, and can see all online contacts.
When I disable messaging for my umail account and restart the phone the gmail account works fine. Messaging works fine for both account on their own, and I have reset the application data on the phone and attempted readding the accounts with the same results.
I spent some time in a chat session with palm support only to have the guy tell me "respectfully, this is a problem with google apps, not webos. you need to contact them," which I respectfully don't accept seeing as how both these accounts worked (actually still work) fine together in webos 1.4.
I was told that chat should support more than one gtalk account. If anyone else has experienced this problem, has suggestions, or can recreate it (especially with one google apps account and one normal gmail account) please let me know.
