Newbie Help!! Sync issue

[ Edited ]

Hey Guys,

I just got my pre and love it.  I added my gmail accounts and everything came over to my pre just fine.  Now here is the issue and hopefully it is an easy one.

I changed an email address for one user on my contacts.  However it did not update on the web gmail account.  I went into preferences and did sync now with no luck.  I also thought that if I made any change it would automatically sync with gmail.

I dig deeper and here is what I have found.

1.  When I add a new contact I can sync both ways with out an issue.

2.  If I edit a old contact on gmail it will sync to the phone

So it seems that something is missing where the phone wont over write the old contact.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Newbie Help!! Sync issue

Ok I have a fix for syncing All contacts.. Simple. Go through all your contacts make sure none start with any numbers. for some reason synergy starts to act up when it starts reading contact names that have numbers. I replaced my only ONE contact that started with a number and went from 5 or 210 with missing information syncing to all 233 contacts in the My Contact group of gmail with ZERO missing information.

I had a contact for 1and1.com I changed it to One and One Dot Com... that fixed the problem.

Palm hope something is figured out. this is shouldn't be a problem. But good thing it was discovered.

P.S. I got this after calling Palm Tech support and being transfered to a specialist... This is what they told me to do. Something so small, I felt slow..
