hey everybody, I have multiple mail accounts, and I am able to recieve mail from all of them instantly. I use MobileMe, gmail, yahoo, university email(drexel) and my work EAS. I know that at least some of them are not push, yet I get all my email instantly. on other non-webos devices, this is not the case.
How does WebOS get my emails so fast? does the phone just check constantly, or do the synergy servers check for me, and push an update to my phone? Or is it something else all together?

What are your settings to gather mail? Every 5 minutes? "As they arrive?"
IMAP accounts (like gmail) are push accounts (as you know). POP accounts (like Yahoo) will arrive as fast as you have told the phone to look for them. Increasing the amount of time can effectively lessen the battery drain if you have them all checking every 5 minutes. Email isn't that critical for me, and my phone is set to look every hour.
The other "non webOS devices" may just be set to look for mail at a larger timeslice.

My settings are as they arrive. This is just what I needed to hear. Now I know I have a crappy mail client on my other device, as it doesn't support push via IMAP. Just another reason why nothing will fix the hole in my heart when I had to leave WebOS. Thanks!
