After adding my Yahoo! account in the Pre's Email application, my calendar and IM where automatically updated.  I'll also state for the record, that I only have one Yahoo account which I use infrequiently.

I'd start by making sure that the Messaging application has your Yahoo account setup.  Launch Messaging on your phone, and then pull down the menu from the top left of the screen, and scroll down the list of email accounts.  If you don't see the Yahoo email account associated with the IM account, I would go back the email application and add in that account.  (You should get an email delivered to your Yahoo email address stating that it has been configured for Palm Synergy sync.

I agree, that when you go into the Messages application, and select Preferences & Accounts, there is no button to add a Yahoo account, only Google Talk and AOL AIM.

So, when I tried to add my Yahoo email account in the Pre email, I get "POP access not enabled".

I enabled POP access using this work-around:  http://picobit.wordpress.com/2009/04/10/yahoo-mail-free-pop-access/

I now have Yahoo email in my list of email accounts.

However, I STILL don't have Yahoo IM in Messaging!!!!

I installed Greg's messaging patch first, then I added my yahoo email account and that automatically added my yahoo account in messaging.  I then went into messaging and deleted the yahoo account it added.  I then re-added it with just my username and password, no @yahoo.com and it worked.

My issue with Yahoo Messenger is that I am able to login but I do not show online on my friends messengers.

What I have found is that if I login with  my alias name, it still logs me in with my yahoo address...

case in point... Say my alias is ogga99 and my email is eeks@yahoo.com

If I login to yahoo messenger on my pre with ogga99 I am for whatever reason still logging in as eeks@yahoo.com

therefore I don't show on my friends list. Now if I was to have my friends add eeks@yahoo.com as my contact then

I would be able to login with either alias or email address and they would see me. I don't know if this is an issue with

the messenger on the pre or something at yahoo.

It's really easy to test. You logon with your alias and all your friends show in your list. Just send them a message and

ask them what name sent them the message and they will tell you the email address not your alias

I still can't get mine to work without having to install a tweak to get it to work.
