I am now in the situation that new calendar entries on the Pre 2 do not sync to Google and deletion on the Pre 2 does not delete an event in Google.
The other direction (Google -> Pre 2) works.
Using Pre 2 (Unlocked GSM, Germany) with 2.1.0.
Edit: After reboot, it synced all new events and deletions, but NOT those with special characters! :-(

Sigh.... more trouble.
I have 2 Exchange accounts - one for work, and one for personal stuff. The personal Exchange server is default, for contacts, calender events, and outgoing mail. So, when I write a mail, I expect the sender to be my personal adress, and when I store a new contact, it should go to the personal Exchange server's contact folder.
But it doesn't. I have never used the contacts listing for my work Exchange server, so I didn't see this until today - accidentally. I have more than 1800 contacts on my personal server, and 15 on the work server. It should be 0. All of these 15 were created on the Palm - that for sure. When I look them up on the personal Exchange server, they are there also, except 1. So, these are duplicates. In all of these duplicates, on both the Exchange servers, I see the following in the Note field :
--- Palm data (do not modify) ---
@palm@{”numbers”:[”+4912345678901”]}@palm@
When I look at the type of number that is stored on the Palm, it is stored as "Mobile". All of them.
So, - can HP Palm direct me to the thread where - surely - somebody has reported duplicate Exchange contact entries ... ?

An update now that I have started using my Pre 2 more regularly. With the 2.1.0 update, I did not experience problems at first and everything updated fine both ways.
As of yesterday, items created on the Pre 2 typically sync to Google.
Items edited on the Pre 2 do not sync to Google but show on the Pre 2
Items edited on the Pre 2 where I switch the calendar entry from one calendar to another (personal to professional) I end up with two entries on the Pre 2, one in each calendar. Neither show up in Google.
I removed the calendar sync from my Google account and all of the calendar entries stayed in my phone but were listed now as undefined. (this is quite a few entries so cleaning up will be a real pain... am going to try a Partial Erase).
It appears that I will have to once asgain switch back to the Pre 1 for now. Hope this is resolved soon as I really like the Pre 2. I am willing to once again send log files if this helps.

For those of you asking for a return to 1.4.5, be careful what you wish for.
I have a Pre Plus on Verizon, and it has not synched Google/Yahoo calendars or contacts (but it is still getting mail) for the past few days, and other forums are full of posts about lots of other people having this same issue. This is a huge issue for me. Like many of you, if I can't get my calendar synched, I might as well not have a smart phone.

New problem:
Suddenly all events from one of my Google calendar belong to calendar "Undefined". Switching off calendar sync for the Google account did not help. Deleting the Google account resulted in ALL events of ALL Google calendars belonging to "Undefined". Reboot did not help.
Now, how do I get rid of all those "Undefined" events???
Using Pre 2 unlocked with webOS 2.1.0 (OTA from 2.0.1).

I thought initially there had been an improvement in calendar sync between the Pre 2 and Google after the 2.1 update. So it was especially disappointing to discover that while some events that are entered or amended on the Pre do find their way into Google, perhaps one in four doesn't. (Indeed, in some ways, a sync that works only sometimes is actually even more useless than one that you know almost never works.) I have performed a couple more full resets. No effect. I can't see a pattern in when it works and when it doesn't. The one time I tried amending a contact on the Pre it failed to sync to Google.
I like almost everything else about webOS and the Pre 2. But I'm beginning to think that HP just doesn't have the experience to handle the software. I really find two things just astonishing: (a) that webOS 2.0 performed so much worse than 1.4.5 in this respect; and (b) that, given that this problem with sync has been so visible in the forums (look at the size of this thread), the issue wasn't resolved in the 2.1 update. I really can't go on like this. Another platform is beckoning.

@ sidamos
Seeing those undefined entries, did you remove the account that yeiled this issue after or before updating to 2.1.0? Unfortunately the only way to remove undefined entries is manually or partial erase.

@bleeding-edge
It is possible that the 2.1.0 update resolves the trigger to the problem but did not repair the problem with existing databases. With undefined records, I would say to partial erase over manual deletion to get them all and at same time clear out any pre 2.1.0 .db data issues.
Since both you and sidamos are have this issue with undefined records showing post 2.1.0 update, I would like log files post 2.1.0 update before you do the partial erase and Ill look into this specific issue further. Still watching this post.
