Cygnus2112,
Thanks for the info. From the sound of it, it has nothing to do with the patch, and something to do with files that are trying to be copied to the device.
On your computer, in the "My Documents" (Documents on Windows Vista and 7) folder, there should be a folder called "Palm OS Desktop".
In this folder is all of your user files and settings. If you can, rename your user folder to something else (remember what it was named, so something as simple as adding an underscore can work) and try to sync again. It should rebuild the sync settings and hopefully fix the issue.
There might also be these files set to sync to your handheld (the ones mentioned) but they may not be Palm OS compatible, and so the handheld is rejecting them.
If you can, try searching for these files in that folder, and if you find them, remove them. See if that fixes it.

I don't know if you are still monitoring these boards but thank you Pizzaboy! No wait - THANK YOU Pizzaboy. I have spent the better part of a week trying to get my beloved Palm Treo 680 to synch with my new Windows 7 computer. With zero success and much aggravation, many false starts and lots of dashed hopes.
Then I came to this forum and downloaded your fix and my woes are cured! In minutes! Bless you.
Thanks again!

Tobster,
Still keep an eye on these forums just incase someone has a problem that they encounter when using the patch. as you can see, there's 21 pages (as of now) of discussion over this patch, and it's still growing.
Glad to hear it's working fine for you. The main post has over 15,000 views and I'm glad people are using my patch still.
Happy Palming.

PizzaBoy,
Once upon a time when the dinosaurs walked the earth I was on the cutting edge with my Palm Pilot. People were in awe when I could pull up my schedule with 2 taps, recall historical data for events, and seemingly find anyone's contact information. You were probably a hatchling at that point.
Now I am the dinosaur, still using my Palm. Funny, but in a meeting I am still the one they look at for calendar info, both past and present.
I am running a clean install of WinXP SP3 with a brand new Office 2010 (upgraded from 2003). I downloaded Palm updates, conduit and your patch, installed them one at a time, and after arm-twisting Outlook into using MY file as the default the sync worked perfectly. I am still frustrated with the new Outlook, but at least my trusty Palm is still in business.
Thank-you, thank-you.

chgordon96,
I'm not the oldest person on this forum, but I have been Palming in one way or another since 2002. Got a Handspring Visor around then (found it at a garage sale in the free box). Didn't have any cradle or way to connect it to a PC (nor did I need to... I was only 9) and I lost it during moves\grade school hecticism.
about 6 years back, I got myself another Visor (Also from a garage sale, but I paid $0.50 for it) and then started collecting handhelds. Since then, I've gotten a M500, a T|2, a T|X, a IIIc, along with a Treo Pro, and a few random Windows Mobile handhelds as well.
I still miss my T|X's simplicity and hackability. I used it for two years straight, as a media consumption device and an organizer. It worked well in High School as a way to keep track of assignments and the WiFi allowed me to be online and look up items in class (This was during the infancy of Smart Phones and few students at school had some sort of handheld internet device. The only ones I saw were other students with a T|X or other T series Palm)
In college, it was a life saver. Four email accounts, Web Browser, Calender, Tasks, everything. Worked like a dream and never gave me a single problem. Only reason I don't use it is because I finally took the plunge and got a smartphone. (Can't stand android though, so I went with Windows Mobile)
Anyways, I was a hatchling when I started Palming, but that's why I enjoy using it still. my T|X sits on my desk still reminding me of homework or appointments and classes, and my T|C sits at home being used as a nifty media remote.
Enjoy your Palming. When Office 2012 comes out later this year, I'll release the updated patch. No need to push it out now and get people's hopes up.

You seem to be the person who I should contact for help. I have just fired up my new computer w/ Windows 7 64 and have installed Desktop 6.2 with Bluetooth syncing and it is telling me that Outlook 2010 is not my default mail program, which it is. I have been running Outlook 2010 on Windows XP for over a year with no syncing issues until now. Can you direct me to a thread that shows the fix, as I am assuming someone has been there before. Thanks.

ZMan00,
Since you mentioned that you are running Winodws 7 X64, can you verify which form of Office you have? There are two "forms" of Office 2010: 32bit and 64bit.
You can check this by opening Outlook, clicking "File" in the top left corner, choosing "Help" from the menu, and looking at the right side of the window under the heading "About Microsoft Outlook."
If it reads something similar to "Version 14.0.xxxx.xxxx (32 bit)" You'll be fine. if it ends in "(64 bit) you'll need to install a 32 bit copy of Office before you can get any further.
