Windows HotSync

I have used my Zire for years and it is full of information I don't want to lose.  Suddenly when I went into Palm on my desktop (Mac OS X 10.4.11) today, ALL of the information is gone!  I still have the data on my handheld and don't want to lose it.  

I hesitate to close Palm and reopen, for fear of permanently losing the data.  I hesitate to sync with the handheld, for fear it will sync the "changes" from the desktop and delete everything on my handheld.

What should I do?  How can I get the information from my handheld back onto my desktop?

Thanks for any help you can give.

I had the same thing happen yesterday (12/22) but I only lost my calendar. I viewed the log and it indicated that there was not enough memory - not sure how to increase that. Fortunately I had printed out the next six months and could re-enter the data. I made the mistake of syching my handheld with the desktop and all that disappeared too. I created a new archive and save every day - just in case. I would be interested to know if others had the same problem. Keeping my fingers crossed because this is the only thing I use for my calendar.

Did you ever find an answer to this problem? The same thing just happened to me with my desktop, the calendar is completely gone. Searching for a solution...

I did not get an answer. Now I make sure to backup the data through an export file at least once a week. Fortunately the only thing that went away was my calendar and I had printed out my January to June 2010 calendar two days before. Seems to have happened to a few people.

Someone from Palm Support should be responding to these problems. Clearly they have a bug in the desktop software that needs to be addressed. Can someone please respond to the missing calendar issue??
