Re: New Windows 7 and Old Beloved Zire 72

Afteer a lot of fumbling, I ended up downloading version 6.2 of the desktop. It does not list it as being compatible with the zire 72 but is seems to work with a driver update. Hotsyncs will fail until you update the driver. The driver is at :

http://www.aceeca.com/downloads/download_overview.php/cPath/1/downloads_id/13

Troubleshooting Guide and installation instructions for Windows 7 are here:

http://www.aceeca.com/products/pub/english/Troubleshooting_USB_driver_installation_on_Windows_7_64-b...

Read and follow the above instructions very carefully to get it going.

Re: New Windows 7 and Old Beloved Zire 72

Hello,

I thought I had erased all my Palm information also a few years ago.  I had about 10 years of business contacts, memo, tasks, etc so I was really upset.  Come to find out, I had 2 user names registered in my palm software on my desktop computer.

I somehow had switched to the other user name (apparently and invalid one).  When I switched back to my correct user name all my data was there.

I don't know if this applies to your situation, but thought I would mention it.

I also have newly purchased laptop with Windows 7 and am very disappointed that I cannot find a driver for the hot sync.

I still have my windows XP desktop computer, but was looking forward to entering and viewing my Palm entries on my new laptop.

Re: New Windows 7 and Old Beloved Zire 72

Hello, Thanks for that info.  I did switch it to run in XP version 3 mode (which is on my current desktop I use for the palm Zire 72). Problem is there does not seem to be a driver to allow it to sync.  Are you saying that you were able to transfer data from your handheld to your computer ?? Where did you get the driver ?

Did you read the thread I referred you to yet?  It explains where the drivers can be found!
