Palm Pilot Tungsten E

Just got new computer with Windows 7 - can't get my Palm Pilot Tungsten E to load on to system - if anyone has any suggestions please let me know - how do I transfer contact information from Tungsten E to my IPhone?  (or I will just give up and start over again) - I know that's the coward's way out, but don't want to spend a lot of time on this. thank you so much,

Re: Palm Pilot Tungsten E

Which version of Palm Desktop are you trying to install?  What version of Win7 do you have?  32bit or 64bit?

If 64bit, you will not be able to sync via a cable as a driver has not been written.   This leaves only wireless methods available.  The E can only sync via IR since it has no BlueTooth radio.

Please read the sticky post at the top of this section for tips:

Re: Palm Pilot Tungsten E

I let the battery go completely down and after I recharged it and did a soft reset the screen doesn't respond to the stylus - when I reset it it asks for location but won't bring up a list of cities, and likewise, nothing else seems to work either.

I have a back-up chip and could restore it if it would work in the first place.   I put the chip in and it asked if I wanted to backup or restore but when I tapped "restore" nothing happened.  I removed the back up chip because I don't want to lose that info.

Is my only option to buy a used one (Amazon.com is the only place I can find them) and use the back up chip on that one?  How can I insure against disaster?
