Hotsync failures can be maddening. If you have not already done so, at the suggestion of DTfromBH, we suggest you start with Palm Support's Hotsync Troubleshooting article, linked here:
http://tinyurl.com/g5jkh
It covers the causes of, and the and solutions for the vast majority of Hotsync issues.
** OFFICE 2007 and WINDOWS 7 / VISTA ALERT for Documents To Go users:
If you are using Office 2007, and/or syncing with Windows 7 / Vista AND you also are a Documents To Go user, please refer to www.dataviz.com.
Documents to Go users (version 9 or earlier) who are using Office 2007 products from Micro$oft, may encounter Hotsync problems. If so, you might need to upgrade your DTG product to the current Version 10. Users of DTG v.7, for example, which ships with the Palm TX have had difficulties trying to Hotsync Office 2007 documents.
Similarly, www.dataviz.com advises that its current Version 10 is compatible with the new Palm Desktop 6.2 Vista-compatible beta. Please visit www.dataviz.com for more information.
If your computer is running a 64-bit version of Windows (XP, Vista, 7), a company named Aceeca recently published 64-bit USB drivers. Check them out by reviewing this tread.
Lastly, if your Hotsync operation stalls or freezes at a particular database such as Contacts or Calendar, you might have a damaged database, or "blobs" of data which is causing the sync to hang. Go through the Troubleshooting article first...if that doesn't do it, check out the awesome utility from www.pimlicosoftware.com called DbFixIt. It will tell you if your handheld has corrupted databases, and let you delete blobs of bad data. And for a small registration fee, it can also repair them. No affiliation, just a happy user!
