I solved this problem an IR HotSync. In my case it's a synchronization of a Palm Tungsten E with a EasyNote TJ65 running with windows 7.
Thanks to Alan G, I just followed his good advice.
I purchased an IR Key RoHS compilant 2002/95/EC.
At the installation time a small difficulty happen to me. No drivers available on the CD supplied and none listed at the given internet address.
Finally just need to plug the key in the PC and the automatic research started by windows found the good driver.
It's slower than the cable connection but works find.

I am having problems trying to HotSync to my new laptop running Windows 7, I have the Windows 7 64bit OS.
Although, I had no problem opening the Palm Desktop (by Access) version 6.2.2. But the HotSync fails to run.
I have questions about the Pimlico software that has been recommended; if it replaces the Palm OS or if it has worked for others.
I'm not sure if I completely follow your information on a successful Tungsten E Hotsync on a Windows 7 OS.
Also, are you running the 64bit or 32bit OS?
Please advise!

@janelwells:
Please do not post multiple copies of the same message here on the Forum. ONE will suffice!
I have deleted the other 7 or so you posted on this same subject.
The Pimlico patch does not replace Palm Desktop; it merely teaches it how to read the older Database format used by older PalmOS devices (like a T|E).
As described in many other threads, your Palm has only one way to sync with a 64bit computer - by using the Infra Red port on it, and equipping your computer similarly.
If your computer does not have an IrDA port on it, you'll need to purchase one that has drivers compatible with Win7 64bit, plug it into the USB port, and then aim your T|E at this adapter as you try to HotSync (with both your Palm and HotSync Manager set to use IR)
