Treo 650 (Verizon), Windows 7 64-bit, Outlook 2010 Sync Possible?

I have a Treo 650 (Verizon), and recently bought a new computer with Windows 7 **64-bit** and Outlook 2010.  Is there any way I can set up hot sync for Outlook 2010 with 64-bit Windows 7?

Thanks,

Mike

Hello desert2som and welcome to the Palm forums.

At the top of this forum, Windows HotSync, there are some messges in grey bans.  I believe the last one in that list at the top of this forum talks about options to sync with Windows Vista and Windows 7 64-bit systems.  Those directions will help you sync your Treo 650.

The problem comes in with Outlook, as there is no support for Outlook 2010 with the old Palm Desktop software.  Some folks have posted about modifying Office files to make Outlook 2010 appears as Outlook 2007.  If you attempt that workaround, you may end up breaking something else in Office 2010.

To hotsync, you'll need bluetooth and you'll need to edit a few files.

DO NOT EDIT OUTLOOK

Follow my guide

http://forums.palm.com/t5/Windows-HotSync/Proper-fix-for-Office-2010-sync-issues/td-p/320732

It works much nicer with everything else seeing as it edits just your Outlook conduit and leaves Outlook untouched.

For anyone looking for a one-time method of migrating from Palm Desktop to Outlook, this website offers a free conversion utility.  It uses the exported DBA file to create an iCal file, which can then be imported into Outlook.  It worked with Palm Desktop 6.2.2 and Outlook 2010 (64-bit) as of 4/5/12.

The procedure requires uploading the exported DBA file to the conversion utility on their website, which could raise security and/or privacy issues related to information in your calendar.  The whole process (upload, convert and download) can be completed in a matter of seconds.  The process indicates that all files are immediately deleted from their servers, so it's a matter of trust.  YMMV.
