My Palm Desktop (V 6.2.2) ceased working - the program reported errors and refused to launch. Suspecting a corrupted file, I uninstalled it completely and reinstalled. Now the desktop will launch but will not Hotsync with the Z22 handheld, which now contains my only good copy of the data. Any suggestions as to what I could try??

Hotsync is running
Local USB is set
Error message appears on the handheld: "Connection... could not be established, please check your setup and try again"
Username is the same on both devices.
I re-booted the PC
<scratches head quizzically>
I'm stumped.

Did you follow the "Clean Uninstall" thread instructions when you removed the original Palm Desktop?
There is another thread in the Windows HotSync section (where I'm moving this thread) that has suggestions for HotSync troubleshooting. Look at the top of the section.

Thanks WingNut. The key was using the username "test" rather than the username on the hand.held
