i have had this problem since last week. i have gone through numerous doctor-wipes and partial erases, but inevitably overnight my email app goes blank again, no matter what I do to fix it.
-i've gone into accounts and deleted my google account, then re-added it. nothing.
-i've changed the email options to only hold 3 days worth of mail. email account still blank the next morning.
-one morning, it was still there! i was amazed, but then the next morning it was gone again.
-i've chatted with Palm tech, who had me do a partial erase (which temporarily fixes it) but of course email was gone overnight afterwards.
-i've tried manually adding the gmail account in the email setup, both with the auto-detect type and by manually adding pop info myself. neither would successfully add account info back.
the only solution (albeit a temporary one for the day, since it's gone overnight again!) is to do a partial erase, and restore. annoying because then you loose any game saves, app settings, etc.
i also noticed that when the email accounts disappear, my universal search sync with my contacts breaks as well. so if i start typing someones name to bring up their contact info, the search just sits there with an empty results screen. if i tap the search icon (magnifying glass) all I get is the google, google maps, etc.
this is so annoying, i use the email so much on this while on the road, or having to communicate with colleagues away from the office.
this morning i'm going back to 1.3.5.1 or whatever was the previous one, then doctoring to 1.4 to see if it fixes the issue overnight. i'll update everyone tomorrow.
